Empowering Employees & Making a Difference with Gift Matching

Medallia: Empowering Employees

Back in July, we joined Pledge 1%, the global movement to ingrain giving into the DNA of all companies. One new initiative we just launched to make employee fundraising even easier is an Employee Resource Group (ERG) Gift Matching Initiative.

ERGs are Medallian-led communities that are open to employees, promote an inclusive environment, and represent the diversity of our culture at Medallia. Each group can select one charitable organization for which to raise matchable funds and receive $5,000 in annual matching funds.

Our goal in 2019 is to donate $45,000 to organizations that make our larger Medallia ecosystem, including the communities in which we work, as diverse and inclusive as possible. Let’s take a look at the organizations our 9 ERG’s will be championing this year:

BAM’s (Blacks @ Medallia) goal is to create a space where people of social and cultural backgrounds can connect and talk about challenges within Black communities, help with mentorship, and recruiting diverse talent. BAM has chosen Foundation for a College Education, who’s vision is to create a community where higher education is attainable. By engaging both students and parents in our work, they aim to create a community of learners who are armed with the right tools and information.
HispanX Voices which seeks to immerse Medallians with the Hispanic/Latino community values, has chosen Techqueria as their organization. Techqueria provides Latinx professionals with the resources and support they need to attain, thrive, and remain in a career within the technology industry. By amplifying Latinx stories we hope to increase representation for this underrepresented community.
iFam (interFaith Family @ Medallia) aims to create a safe space to bring your religious self to work, for mutually respectful & peaceful co-existence. They are focused on advocating for ways to respect faith-based practices at work as well as education on forms of bias against faith-based communities. This group has decided to donate to the GiveLight Foundation, a global organization serving orphaned children and strives to recreate a loving family, a sense of belonging, strong identity and self-esteem.
Medley is Medallia’s cross-functional Diversity Council with a vision of an inclusive environment for Medallians of all backgrounds to participate fully and grow without constraints. Medley has chosen Year Up, whose mission is to close the opportunity divide by ensuring that young adults gain the skills, experiences, and support that will empower them to reach their potential through careers and higher education.
Parents at Medallia strives to bring awareness to the “life of working balance and work-life balance”, and provide community/support to enable parents to balance career and family. They have chosen the Homeless Prenatal Program, which joins with families to help them recognize their strengths and trust in their capacity to transform their lives and break the cycle of childhood poverty.
Medallia’s Q-Field is a global community working to give voice and give back to members of the LGBTQ+ community. The Q-Field team has decided to support LGBT Asylum Project, a San Francisco based non-profit dedicated to providing high-quality legal representation for LGBT immigrants who are fleeing persecution and seeking asylum in the United States.
Vets at Medallia is a community for all veterans (US and international) as well as those who ally with and support veteran’s causes. The Vets @ Medallia team has chosen USO, which many members benefited from during their time serving. USO’s mission is to strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation.
Women in Tech (WIT) aim to support and connect women in tech at Medallia. WIT has chosen Techbridge Girls, which designs and delivers high-quality, fun STEM programs and learning experiences while training educators to deliver unique programs to marginalized girls across the U.S.
Women @ Medallia’s goal is to build Medallians who are dedicated to empowering and developing one another through education (and laughter!), with a focus on gender equality. This group has chosen the nonprofit Path Forward, which aims to empower people to restart their careers after time spent focused on caregiving.

We are proud to support our ERGs and the philanthropic causes aligned with their missions. Please show your support by donating through the links listed above, and track your donations here to be counted towards the match. Together, our collective giving can help us reach our $45,000 goal and make a powerful difference.

Note: This ERG Gift Matching fundraising campaign for fiscal year 2019-2020 ends on January 15, 2020.
