Systems Administrator

The role:
Medallia is hiring for a skilled Systems Administrator to join the Architecture & Engineering team at Medallia. The role will be responsible for managing day-to-day operational processes related to our infrastructure, monitoring, and business critical engineering applications. Along these lines, the role will ensure proper tuning, scalability, availability and reliability of systems for consumption by our business stakeholders. The Infrastructure Engineer will support sandbox and production-ready infrastructure and applications, and will partner closely with business units across the company around optimization of those applications. The role is central to key company-wide projects focused on enhanced support and automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Configure services and tools on Linux, Ubuntu, or Windows servers
  • Manage services uptime and availability
  • Help identify breakpoints in information flow from an end user laptop to a corporate resource
  • Manage data center firewalls including NAT rules etc
  • Install security patches on Linux, Ubuntu, or Windows servers
  • Audit health of disaster recovery solution to ensure adequate backup cadence
  • Conduct data recovery efforts in case of an outage
  • Manage users, groups on servers via Salt
  • Scripting to populate extension attributes in JAMF
  • Create and configure VMs for services
  • Maintain port and vlan settings on switches
  • Edit and create iptables policies
  • Manage storage system by creating shares, handling alerts and managing policies

  • Administration of Jira, Confluence, Directory Services (LDAP, AD) is second nature to you

  • You actively share what you know to up-level your team’s skills and reach business objectives

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years maintaining linux environments
  • 1+ year experience with one or more scripting language(s)
  • 1+ years maintaining windows environments
  • 1+ years experience working with information flow through the network
  • Bachelor degree in computer science, engineering, management information systems or related field

Preferred Experience:

  • CentOS maintenance
  • Jenkins administration
  • AWS administration
  • Atlassian applications experience
  • Salt administration
  • Active directory management
  • Basic networking understanding
  • Enterprise networking experience
