The Role:
As Sales Engineer, you will provide critical support for both field sales counterparts and prospective clients. In this role, you are the technical expert about Medallia product and solutions. You support winning deals while ensuring that all proposed solutions are good fits with Medallia’s capabilities. You conduct product demonstrations and work closely with sales staff in solution scoping and understanding the implications of the customer’s technical environment and processes. You will address customers’ technical questions, regarding Medallia product functionality and integration capability, and play a lead role in proposals and RFP responses.
Responsibilities:
• Support assigned sales teams and sales engagements, including attending sales meetings and presentations as required
• Be the technical expert regarding Medallia product and solution capabilities in designated sales cycles. Understand the full breadth of the product and stay current with ongoing developments and enhancements in the product suite
• Conduct compelling product demonstrations; must be able to tailor demonstrations to proposed solution scopes when appropriate
• Provide accurate and timely responses to client inquiries about Medallia product and solutions (solution elements include factors such as integration with third-party survey execution, integration with client internal systems, historical data migration, and the like)
• Support needs assessment and technical requirements discovery as the point person for solutions scoping
• Serve as point person for technical capabilities sections of RFP responses and for coordinating security and other technical reviews by clients
• Consult with Medallia Client Solutions to keep team members informed regarding proposed solutions, incorporate their input, and support transition of new projects to implementation
Minimum Qualifications:
• 1-3 years of experience with enterprise-level SaaS software in a sales engineering or similar role
• Proven success demonstrating software products and engaging with prospective customers as the technical expert, including guiding customers to accept technical approaches that are a good fit with current product / solution capabilities
• Experience supporting winning RFP responses and proposals with demanding enterprise customers
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to translate technical concepts into laymen’s terms
• Ability to travel extensively (50%+)
• Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications:
• 1-3 years of direct experience in a technical capacity with enterprise Customer Experience Management systems; ideally, experience in program implementations
• Technical background, such as BS in a technical major
