Engineering Manager

JOIN US IN THE FIGHT AGAINST MEDIOCRITY!

Medallia is looking for an exceptional Engineering Manager to join our core platform team, which is responsible for using natural language processing, machine learning techniques, NoSQL technologies, and our in-house OLAP engine to analyze and display terabytes of various customer feedback data in a real-time web application.

Medallia is the global leader in SaaS Customer Experience Management and Enterprise Feedback Management. We build technology that captures and analyzes ridiculous amounts of structured or unstructured data for our customers in real-time. Basically, we help businesses better understand their customers, which in turn, leads to customer loyalty. We were recently named a Leader in EFM Satisfaction and Loyalty Solutions in the first-ever Wave Report by Forrester Research.

Our engineering organization is very flat and the team works in an Agile environment, which is designed to give everyone autonomy. All engineers contribute to our core platform in a similar fashion, everyone is responsible for writing code, participating in peer code reviews, and taking complete ownership of the feature or project they are working on.

As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth operations of our engineering team.

  • You will remove obstacles that prevent developers from writing code, while ensuring that the path we have chosen is bound for success
  • Work with operations, quality assurance, and product to ensure successful releases
  • You will share a responsibility for the production environment including our biweekly deployments
  • Work closely with a remote engineering office
  • Manage and help drive improvement in software development process

Experience:

  • 3+ years experience and proven success in managing an Engineering team demonstrating technical and organizational leadership handling multiple ongoing projects through product life cycle
  • 5+ years experience successfully developing software
  • Extensive experience in building enterprise software
  • Experience with databases
  • High availability, high volume systems
  • Web applications
  • Start-up experience a plus
