The Role:
Medallia is seeking a Controller to lead our accounting function. The ideal candidate is a hands-on CPA with 5+ years of accounting experience that can thrive in a fast paced start-up environment. This person will report to the VP of Finance.
Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Train and supervise accounting staff: AP, AR and general accountant.
- Work Cross Functionally: Provide accurate and timely reports of financial results and other financial information to department heads.
- Project Management: Oversee timely reporting of tax, insurance and other reports required by governmental regulations.
- Other Responsibilities: Complete monthly financial reporting and close processes. Manage monthly consolidation of foreign subsidiaries. Establish and implement internal control guidelines. Assist in establishing and implementing revenue recognition policy. Serve as primary liaison for external audit and tax preparation. Handle all company banking, monitoring and reconciling all company bank accounts. Maintain and implement company expense policy.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business administration or related field with a minimum of five years of progressive experience in accounting required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting and compliance
• Ability to operate with substantial latitude in an informal, fast-paced environment
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics for GP preferred.
